Rock band Foo Fighters have announced that they’ll be streaming a free gig on Facebook on 30 October. The show will come live from the band’s Los Angeles HQ and the stream will begin at 7pm PST (that’s 3AM GMT). It’ll be powered by Livestream.

Fans can RSVP to the show from the event page and when it begins the stream will be available from an application. Fans are also being asked, during the show, to update their status messages to reflect what they think of the performance, which will hopefully then bring other viewers in.

MySpace has undertaken a few live gig streams, and YouTube has covered a few, but Facebook has stayed relatively clear of the action until now. Are you planning to watch the show? Or just grab a copy from a file sharing network the following morning? Let us know in the comments.
